The assets in this directory — including the University Seal, wordmark, logotype, and all associated brand marks — are the exclusive intellectual property of the University of Makati, protected under:
- Republic Act No. 8293 — Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines, as amended by RA No. 9502 and RA No. 10372
- All relevant laws and treaties binding the Philippines
This notice is issued pursuant to the UMak Trademark Brand Usage Policy, published by the Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO), the Center for Integrated Communications (CIC), and the Center for Data Protection and Records Management (CDPRM).

⚠️ Unauthorized Use is Strictly Prohibited
Any reproduction, redistribution, modification, or use of these assets — in whole or in part — without prior written authorization from the University of Makati constitutes an offense under copyright and trademark law.
Unauthorized use includes but is not limited to:
- Modifying, distorting, or altering any Mark in any way
- Misrepresenting UMak affiliation or implying false sponsorship
- Using the Marks on social media handles, domains, or digital accounts without CIC authorization
- Using AI tools to generate, reconstruct, or approximate any UMak Mark
- Uploading or publishing official UMak digital asset packages to public repositories, CDNs, or file-sharing platforms without prior written authorization from CIC
- Hotlinking assets directly from UMak-controlled servers or repositories from external platforms
Violations are subject to civil and criminal liability under RA No. 8293, as amended, including administrative sanctions, issuance of a Cease-and-Desist Notice, and legal action initiated by the University through its legal counsel.

🏷️ Commercial Use Requires Authorization
Any commercial use of these assets — including merchandising, advertising, business partnerships, sponsorship materials, or incorporation in for-profit products and services — requires prior written approval from both:
- Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) — itso@umak.edu.ph
- Center for Integrated Communications (CIC) — cic@umak.edu.ph
A formal Trademark Licensing Agreement must be executed before any commercial activity may commence. Royalty fees apply per the schedule in Section 6.4 of the UMak Trademark Brand Usage Policy.
Failure to obtain authorization constitutes trademark infringement and may result in civil liability and damages under RA No. 8293, as amended.

🚨 Digital Impersonation & Phishing is a Criminal Offense
Cloning, forking, or using these assets to create phishing sites, fraudulent portals, look-alike domains, impersonation pages, or any digital property that falsely implies affiliation with the University of Makati is a criminal offense.
Punishable under:
- Republic Act No. 10175 — Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012
- Section 4(a)(1) — Illegal Access
- Section 6 — All offenses under the Revised Penal Code, as amended, and special laws committed by, through, and with the use of information and communications technologies
This includes registering domains or app names containing UMak Marks or confusingly similar variations (e.g., umak-ph.com, universityofmakati.net, umak-portal.app).
Offenders will be reported to the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) and appropriate law enforcement authorities. UMak reserves the right to pursue all available civil and criminal remedies.

Authorized Use of This Repository
The assets in this repository are made publicly available solely for use in official University of Makati digital properties, affiliated systems, and academic publications, subject to:
- The UMak Trademark Brand Usage Policy
- The UMak Identity System (www.umak.edu.ph/brandguide)
- Prior authorization via Form 5 — Digital Platform Brand Use Request for all public-facing digital platforms
All digital assets are issued as project-scoped packages. Assets must be self-hosted within the authorized project's own infrastructure. They may not be repurposed for other platforms without a new authorization.
